This kitchen sink drain assembly is a joy. It uses a different approach in how it fastens under the sink that is a big improvement over the standard method using a huge metal 'nut' for which most people do not have a wrench to fit it and often after a year or so of use becomes corroded and difficult to get off. This unit uses a non corrodible sturdy plastic cone shaped piece and is held in place by a S/S 1/2 inch accessed from the top of the sink. The unit also uses a massive rubber sealing system that is superior to the standard thin gasket. It is a superior system.I love that it filters what would normally go down my drain and easy to pull out clean and drop back in!!We love these strainers. They look great and you don't need to putty them as they come with special seals to prevent leaking under the sink. They're also very innovative allowing the strainer to sit in place but still letting water run, then if you wish to fill the sink, you just push down on the strainer and it seals. Now you can fill the sink for washing dishes, etc. A super product at a super low price.Perfect for new drain and after a year still looks goodGreat item!Looks great!Works as it should.This item was constructed of such poor quality (mostly plastic parts) that I decided to return it.
