These Derwent blender pencils are awesome. I ordered an extra since my other one is getting short. Highly recommend this brand of colorless blenderI recently bought several different brands of blenders and by far this one is the best!I am relatively new to using colored pencils but almost all the instructional or informational articles that I have read always recommend getting a blending pencil. I tried numerous other blending devices just to see how they work or because they came with a set of pencils, but now, after a number of years, I find myself going back to the Derwent colored pencil blender because they seem to work the best.Best blender I have ever used, not that I have used them all. Bought it because of a comparison demonstration I saw and I think it is the best. Not crazy about the price of this pencil on Amazon or the fact it was mailed in a padded envelope. Would have preferred more padding. Pencil leads break, you know. This blender is tops, in my opinion . I have used other blenders for my drawings but they don't come close to doing the job that the Derwent blenders do. I have a hard time finding them in the art stores in my area so I was so happy to see that Amazon carries them. It was shipped to me very quickly and I was impressed because I placed the order only a few days from Christmas and was prepared to have to wait a bit to get them, due to the Christmas mailing crush I figured would happen during the holidays, but in just a few days they arrived in the mail. I definately would order from this company again ( Hyatts Graphic Supply Co Inc , Buffalo, NY.) 5 stars to Amazon, Derwent Blender Pencils, and Hyatts for shipping so quickly.Too expensive, but when you have to shop online, sometimes you have no choice. What can I say? It's a good blender pencil. It's a good blender pencil. Did it's job.I ordered this item from Hyatt's All Things Creative. I would definitely repurchase from this seller. Smooth transaction and quick delivery. I really like the results this blender produces. I am able to use this with my Derwent and cheaper colored pencils which makes this blender extremely versatile. It really does a great job of blending the colors and creating a nice smooth finish. I will definitely be getting another one of these in the future once the one I have runs out.It takes a bit of practice, but once you get it, it is a wonderful tool.To smooth out the colors. Use over a colored piece and it looks like you've used a paint. The color gets into the pores of the paper and no pencil streaks are visible. I use this blender with very soft coloring pencils (Supreme Soft).I wrote a review for this a while back slating it, but I tried it out again + love it! The problem was that it made a mess of every picture I tried it on, I realise now that the pencils I was using it with (+ I was using several different brands) just didn't work well with this blender. I've become a massive fan of Derwent Coloursoft pencils recently + mainly use just them - I tried the blender with them + it's perfect!I've got back into #adultcolouring and I wanted to use pencils #blackwidowpencilsSo I heard about blending. This is a great pencil. It does come out shiny if aplied to hard. But practise on paper. I've used stumps but these spread better than scratching. Like the paper stumps. Try it you'll love it. Remember a sharp pencil is a precise pencil.I have only used it for blending Derwent Lightfast coloured pencils and it is very good for that, so I don't know how well it blends with other coloured pencils. I will definitely buy another one when this one is used up.amazing product! Blends smoothly & without excess pressure required. Perfect for that added quality on pictures...But no protective packaging so broken throughout and basically useless. Will buy product again but a different seller.
